Personality: Ayame's personality comes off as snobbish because of her matter of fact attitude and willingness to correct people, ranging from peers to adults. She often likes to pretend to be a rude girl to keep people from taking advantage of her because events in her past makes her a very submissive girl. She hardly has friends because of her protective exterior but those who know her know that she is really shy, quiet, and that she lacks self-confidence. When it comes to people she cares about or teased, she will be defensive and is very short tempered.

History/Backstory: She began to train in Kabuki as other girls her age. Once she turned 8, she began to train under her mother as a Miko. She soon was able to tap into her shaman abilities. She trained in both feilds before she was taken under her grandfather's wing. His training was alot more difficult for Aya because she was a woman and the second born of the family. She had to quickly adapt in order for her to catch up to her older brother, and clear his path so that he may be the future Shaman King. As a result of the intense training, she became submissive to the authorities around her and never questioned the males of the family. She transferred to Funbari and continued her education but became so wrapped in her studies that she was ahead of many of the students. She was seen as a snobby, overacheiver and thus hasn't developed many friends. She met her guardian ghost, Temari, while practicing her dance in a cemetery. Temari agreed to be her mentor and guardian for the upcoming tornament and fulfill Aya's dream of being the most recognized performer in all of the world.
